To James
Since you passed on, I have been right there with you. All the life got sucked out of me too. There has not been a moment when the thought or mention of your passing has not felt as its happening right here right now. It’s like someone punched me in the stomach and took all my breath away. Time has not made that feeling go away, and I am glad for that. For as painful as it is, you are still very much with me and I will never let that go.
Besides your funeral, making this website has been the most difficult and emotional experience in the journey of my life. It has taken me a long time to get here. By putting these pictures and thoughts down, I am working on bringing you and I back to our new life.
I know you are in a better place. This is my way to make this place a better place too. It may be a new journey, but I am not alone, for you will always be here reminding me of the path.
Thank you son…..
January 1992 – Bozo came to town and met James Disbrow….. Your dad worked at Disney and got us tickets for the show. We also got our 15 minutes of fame by ending on the front page of the Style section of The Orlando Sentinel on Wednesday January 22, 1992. You were picked as the “Prince” and got to play the famous “Bucket Game”. You got up-to the 5th bucket when the clown moved you and you lost your edge missing the last bucket. Did not matter, you won a lot of loot! I still have the special anniversary Disney watch you won that day. Kissimmee, Florida
February – 1994 – James Disbrow the Gambler……. This actually happened in August of 1994, but “YOU” passed away that month…. On the way home from a culinary convention in San Francisco, we got stranded at the Las Vegas airport with no money. I was in panic mode calling mom for cash. “YOU” saved the day! You used your last $10 to gamble and won over $300 on a slot machine! I let you spend it anyway you wanted. Thanks to “You”, we were able to leave the airport and splurge all day in Vegas. Since you’ve been gone, “YOU” have been saving me ever since…. Las Vegas, Nevada

November 1986 – James Disbrow – Baby Blue. I took this picture to capture that defiant look. You were such a beautiful baby! Wispy hair, big pout and amazing eyes. Your expressions always made me feel you were ahead of your time. With one look from those big brown eyes speckled with gold, I knew what you were thinking and/or feeling. You got mad at having your toys taken away and went to the window to think about how big a fit to throw. You would not let anyone touch you. I loved the way you looked in that baby blue gown you had been wearing since birth. It used to fit you like a cocoon, snug at the bottom, but you out grew it and wore it as a smock. I will always remember you like this…. Orlando, Florida
James Disbrow – Baby Blue. I had kept that baby blue piece along with a few other pieces of your clothing from your childhood in a box. Hoping one day you would have a child of your own and it too could wear the clothes you wore as a baby. Instead I ended up burring you in the outfit. It seemed fitting that you should be laid to rest in something you so happily wore as a baby.
December 1987 – James Disbrow – NY State of Mind…… Visiting Grandma “Tata” in the background. Your ashes are next to hers waiting. When I die, you both will be removed and placed in a bird house I will have built along with my ashes. The house will be place on a mountain where there are four seasons. We will be there till the house eventually disintegrates and we are finally free…… Brooklyn, NY
James Disbrow – Niche – You were cremated September 1, 2002 by Dunnellon Crematory. I brought your ashes to Virginia until I could return and lay you to rest next my mom. You were laid to rest October 25, 2002. Once again Bill stepped up and lovingly placed you in your niche.

James Disbrow – Niche. Your urn was created by Bill Manly, just as he had done my mom’s urn years ago. We chose a Brazilian Cherry – Jatoba, bought at Vienna Hardwoods. Very “Beautiful” wood to work with hard, strong, so much like you son.
